Does this indicate rugby is a dying sport

At one time this was a busy time of the year with basically a full fixture list on Boxing day and the Saturday as well as New Year Day and  1st Saturday in January.  When the Saturday was Boxing Day, fixtures would be also played on the Bank Holiday Monday.  Like in recent years only Hartlepool Rovers and West Hartlepool play at 1st XV level on Boxing Day.  This year the weather nearly forced the fixture to be cancelled However so strong is the tradition that the venue was moved to the King George V field.  Despite torrential rain the game went ahead with West winning 62-0.
